Falcons subdue Roughriders; host Panthers prevail

HERSHEY, Neb. — Too many Southwest open weights propelled the Hitchcock County Falcons to a 30-27 wrestling dual win Tuesday.

Heavyweight Jaden Loghry scored the one Falcon mat win when he pinned Southwest’s Kade Shaffert in :44.

The Roughriders countered with three pins and senior Mitchel Stritt’s 10-4 win over Dylan Kollmorgen at 126.

Leshawn McBride stuck Hitchcock’s Joseph Williams just one second before their second period was finished (3:59) at 150 pounds.

Caleb Heskett scored a 2:57 victory over Marcus Owens in their 157-pound shodown.

Luis Escobar Salas was a 44-second victor over Hitchcock’s Karson Hubl at 215.

Yet the Falcons celebrated forfeit wins for Tanner McClain (132), Jaret Neben (144), Samuel Hare (165) and Karson Shuler (175).

Those wins totaled enough points for the 30-27 Hitchcock victory.

Gage Hammond received Southwest’s one forfeit win at 120.

The host Hershey Panthers did wqin a 42-24 dual decision over Hitchcock County during this triangular.

Loghry delivered his second heavyweight pin of the tri when he stuck Hershey’s Rhys Edelman 36 seconds into their second period. Dylan Kollmorgan finished Panther Kale DaMoude at the 5:39 mark for one more Falcon win. No results were obtained from Southwest vs. Hershey,
