Members of the McCook Ministerial Association met Wednesday to plan this year’s Salvation Army Red Kettle bell-ringing campaign at Walmart. They are, from left, Walt Ray, Rob Putz, Jessica Meyer, Clark Bates, Seth Bates and Jeff Donelan. Volunteers are needed today through Dec. 23, and can sign up at registertoring.com. Hours are Monday through Thursday, noon to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with no donations on Sunday. Volunteers will have their name entered into a drawing for each hour they volunteer, with prizes including a $200 beef bundle donated by O’Dea Beef and Sarge’s Bar; a $100 Shell gas card from an anonymous donor, and a $50 Taco John’s gift card from Jerry and Robin Calvin. The high school team that volunteers the most hours will get a buy 1, get 1 pass from Carver Cinemas Cody Dame. Last year’s campaign brought in a record $22,601.52, with virtually all of the donations staying local. For more information, call Traci Taylor, (308) 350-0904.
