SWNCTA sets auditions for The Spitfire Grill

Tuesday, November 7, 2023

McCOOK, Neb. — The Southwest Nebraska Community Theatre Association plans open auditions for the production of "The Spitfire Grill" at Central Elementary on Sunday, Nov. 12, from 2 to 4 p.m., and Monday, Nov. 13, from 7 to 9 p.m.

"The Spitfire Grill," a musical with music and book by James Valcq, lyrics and book by Fred Alley, and based on the film by Lee David Zlotoff, offers a fantastic opportunity for local talent to shine.

All parts are for adults, so those trying out should bring sheet music selections or a background track for their audition.

Audition sides will be provided on the day of the audition.

If you make the cut, rehearsals will commence on Jan. 4, with practice sessions scheduled for Sundays from 2 to 5 p.m. and Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. Performances of "The Spitfire Grill" are slated for March 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee show on Sunday, March 10, at 2 p.m.

For any questions or inquiries, reach out to the show's producer, Pam Messinger, at (308) 340-5410, or the director, Don Harpst, at (308) 340-8001.
