Wow, these Riders do look rough whether it’s the hats, boots or impressive facial hair. At least they relaxed for three sets and joined Southwest’s cheerleaders in a fun night where the volleyball team delivered its first RPAC tourney team title.

McCOOK, Neb. — These Southwest volleyball girls just keep making great history.

The Wallace Wildcats were simply awesome during a 26-match win streak since August 29.

They’d only dropped two sets until a tight 3-2 RPAC semifinal win over Paxton Monday evening.

In barely one hour, the mighty Roughriders nearly doubled all those numbers while winning a 25-19, 25-23, 26-24 RPAC tourney final at Graff Events Center.

They took home their first RPAC volleyball title following last year’s historic run to 27-win run to Class C-2 state.

Senior setter Bryn Lampe fueled ’the Riders on Tuesday whether it was 39 assists or a team-high four stuff blocks.

Kyra Nelms also made four blocks besides crushing 15 kills.

Annika Nelms, Atleigh Nelms and Peyton Truksa each drilled nine kills with Peyton totaling another four blocks.

Atleigh Nelms (18), Anastasia Gallegos (17) and Allison VanPelt (10) all reached double-digit digs.

Senior Kendyl Flaming’s 14 kills powered Wallace in three close sets. Both teams now take 26-3 records into subdistricts next week.
