Final results from McCook placing fourth at state

LINCOLN, Neb. — McCook delivered big state tourney wins and every player medaled for Bison tennis team finishing fourth Tuesday.

The 2022 Class B champs totaled 32.5 points in this 30-team field. They finished behind only champion Elkhorn North (39), Mount Michael (37.25) and Grand Island CC (36.75).

More from coach Matt Wiemers will be included on Friday. The Tuesday Bison state results:

No. 1 singles: Nathaniel Miller (37-6) los to Omaha Skutt’s John Krueger; won 7-5, 6-3 over Waverly’s Royle Klucas.

No. 2: Jonny Frank (28-10) won 9-7 over Mount Michael’s Peter Killeen; and won 8-5 over Lincoln Standing Bear’s Sam Cooper.

No. 1 doubles: Lincoln Michaelis/Kaiden Porter (30-12) won 8-4 over Elkhorn’s Brody Brummer/Jack Fry; lost 8-5 to Adams Central.

No. 2 doubles: Caleb Shaw/Reid Loop (30-10) lost 6-3 6-0 to Lincoln Christian; won 7-6, 7-6 over GICC.
