Bison split pair at Bow; host North Platte Thursday night

BROKEN BOW, Neb. — McCook High's volleyball team ran into a tough Broken Bow foe but rebounded for a three-set win over Ainsworth during this varsity triangular Tuesday evening.

The Bison (8-19 record overall) scored their second win in four matches after spltting with Hershey and Gothenburg last week.

Ainsworth was even at 10-10 entering the Bison match only to see McCook win set one, 25-23.

The Bulldogs took set two, 25-17, only to see McCook's 25-19 victory in Tuesday's finale.

McCook dropped 25-18, 25-18 decisions to 16-10 host Broken Bow.

The Bison are 5-2 at home this season which includes their Bison Invitational on Sept. 16.

North Platte currently owns a 6-23 record, 0-9 in "true" road matches.

The Bulldogs' wins are over Omaha Westview twice, Omaha Buena Vista, Burns, Wyo.; Rapid City Stevens, S.D.; and Chadron.

Varsity action should begin around 7 p.m.
