McCook spikers bale the Haymakers; fall to Trojans

McCOOK, Neb. — New setter Karstyn Porter delivered 14 assists and six McCook teammates drilled kills during a 25-19, 25-14 sweep of the Cozad Haymakers at Tuesday's Cozad Triangular.

Senior Rowen Wiemers slammed six kills to lead a balanced attack which also featured five from junior Ashlyn Randel.

Sophomore Abby Renner and freshman Cali Crawford clobbered three kills apiece.

Junior Bailee Fawver served three of seven Bison aces while adding eight digs to match Porter for team-leading honors.

The Bison romped even without record-setting hitter Kori Rippen, who did play McCook's second set against Cambridge.

Cambridge (14-3 record) beat McCook, 2-0, and also swept the host Haymakers who are now 1-16 this season.
