Bison earn Class B No. 1 spot in state powerpoint

LINCOLN, Neb. — McCook’s boys tennis team has claimed the Class B No. 1 ranking with a new state dual tournament now just one month away.

Coach Matt Wiemers provided some more insights on Monday:

“A little background on the PowerPoint rankings. These duals include a 1, 2, 3 singles and 1, 2 doubles match format. They are some based to help with sending teams who elect to participate in the team state dual tournament to be held in Kearney October 7th for Class B and October 9 for Class A.

The top 16 teams in the final PowerPoint standings will be invited to participate in the inaugural state team dual championship. Like other sports with a PowerPoint system, rankings will change weekly.

The following are the current power points based off of a 5 match dual. It is not mandatory for all teams to participate in the new team dual competition, so the top 10 is represented by only the teams that are playing that 5 match format. New power ranking will be updated and sent out every Sunday.”

McCook holds Class B No. 1 ahead of Elkhorn North, Scottsbluff, Crete and Lincoln Christian.

The Bison are defending Class B state team champions.

Omaha Skutt checks in next at No. 6.
