McCOOK, Neb. — Class A North Platte proved to be a tough first McCook JV football foe during a 56-14 Bulldog victory on Monday.

Lee Davidson’s 21-yard touchdown gallopbrought the Bison within 14-6.

However, they didn’t score again until a Trenton Raile three-yard rumble and Blake Rodewald’s two-point conversion made it 49-14.

Coach Jeremy Young offered these remarks:

“Definitely a game we can learn alot from.

We saw some nice things from the guys, putting together quite a few nice drives, but weren’t able to put points on the board. We have a young JV squad this year that hasn’t had much time to work together as a unit.

I thought we played hard, we just need to tighten up some of our fundamentals.”

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Ty Junker’s awesome 60-yard interception “pick six” touchdown provided one Bison highlight.

Tripp Raile also reached the end zone on a two-yard sneak. Gunner Kaps connected on both PAT kicks “right down the middle.”

Coach Kolton Stone provided some other insights about this opener:

“We came out pretty slow and it took us the first half to finally settle in and play McCook football. The boys responded well and came out the second half and put together a couple of nice drives that resulted in points.”
