McCook High golfer nearly cracks Sidney Top 10

SIDNEY, Neb. — McCook’s Lainey Peters tied for 11th place as the Bison golf girls finished seventh overall at Tuesday’s Sidney Invitational.

Peters’ 109 paced the Bison through these hot first 18 holes of 2023.

Kapri Loop fired 124, Haley Beideck 126, Natalie Ruggles 135 and freshman Halleigha Beavers 135.

McCook outgolfed Kimball in the eight-team field.

Scottsbluff won by 51 strokes over Ogallala and Gering for the team championship.

Alliance finished fourth, Chadron fifth and host Sidney sixth.

The McCook girls host their annual Bison Invitational on Friday at Heritage Hills. Opening tee times are 9 a.m.
