McCOOK, Neb. — Trailing 3-0, the McCook National Bank Seniors plated 10 unanswered runs and never looked back during their 12-4 opening B-6 area playoff win over Gothenburg's Melons Friday evening.

Quentin Terry connected on a game-tying, three-run homer yet Miles Pollmann's bases-clearing triple to the right-field fence was just about as powerful.

Pollmann's triple made it 10-3 through four innings before a two-run, two-run rally in the finish finished MNB's "mercy rule" victory.

Gabe Roberts pitched a five-inning complete game for the McCook National Bank Seniors during their 12-4 triumph over Gothenburg Friday night at the Jaycees Complex.

Gabe Roberts pitched all five innings as the No. 3 Seniors (14-11 record) advanced into a winner's bracket Saturday game against No. 2 Ogallala. First pitch is again set for 5 p.m. at the McCook Jaycees Complex.

Other B-6 openers on Friday featured No. 6 Broken Bow beating No. 1 Minden, 15-0, and Ogallala handled No. 5-seed Holdrege.

Another tripleheader starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday starting with Gothenburg vs. Broken Bow. Minden and Holdrege meet for a 2 p.m. elimination game before the McCook-Ogallala showdown.

Watch for updates throughout the weekend.
