McCOOK, Neb. — Rosters for the 2023 McCook Community College all-star volleyball game have been announced.

The game is set for Saturday, June 24 at 6 p.m. at the Peter and Dolores Graff Events Center.

Two former MCC players Janie Sommer and Victoria Thomas will coach the East team.

East will feature a pair of McCook High School graduates in front-line hitters Joy Rippen and Gracelyn Wiemers along with a pair of Cozad Haymakers, Megan Dyer and Regan Schroeder.

Others include 2023 grads Emerson Swanson, Arapahoe; Breelle Miller, Cambridge; Mataya Stubbs, Maxwell; Zoey Evans, Hi Line; Milla Farr, Medicine Valley; and Caylin Barnett, Southwest – an incoming MCC freshman.

MCC alum Ashley Palic and Matt Matt Chitwood will coach the west team.

That squad includes three players from Maywood-Hayes Center along with two each from Wauneta-Palisade and Chase County.

Representing Maywood-Hayes Center will be Kiley Hejtmanek, Olivia Hansen, and Ashlin Broz. They advanced into last year’s Class D-1 semifinals with the Wolves.

Halee Bardsley and Cali Cox will represent a talented Wauneta-Palisade program.

Chase County players are power hitter-blocker Bryn McNair and Elizabeth Reeves. McNair excelled in three sports including two Class C state track-field championships and runner-ups this spring. Other West team members are Tahlia Steinbeck, Hershey; Lacey Bruner, Sutherland; and Mae Siegel of North Platte St. Pat’s.
