New teacher contracts on agenda

McCOOK, Neb. – McCook School Board of Education will be asked to approve two new teacher contracts and the purchase of new science curriculum at their meeting Monday beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Evans Kojo Appiah will teach high school math and Patricia Cassandra D. Cale will teach high school science.

Appiah graduated from the University of Cape Coast with a Bachelor's in basic education – mathematics in 2014 and earned a certificate with Teach-USA LLC, Wise-Up Program in 2023. He has been employed as a lead teacher in math, social studies, English and Ghanaian language, natural science, and history of Ghana since 2016.

Cale graduated from Naval State University – Biliran Campus in 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Secondary Education - Biological Science. She has taught at Biliran National Agricultural High School since 2018.

The board will hear reports concerning Language Arts writing presentations by 8th-grade students and recognition of students for Teens in Driver’s Seat Award. Finance, Facilities and American Civics committees will also present reports.

Superintendent Grant Norgaard will update the board on a professional development training session, staffing, school improvement, graduation, and classroom remodels.
