LEOTI, Kan. - Francita L. Drain, age 85, passed away at the Wichita County Health Center in Leoti, Kan. on April 16, 2023. She was born in McCook, Neb. on July 16, 1937, to Leo Blasius and Claudine Maun (Adams) Frank. She grew up on a farm south of Trenton, Neb. with three sisters. She attended Trenton High School and after graduation she taught country school.

She was united in marriage to Harlan Drain on August 24, 1957, in Colorado, where they raised four children. Fran was a gifted seamstress and created many beautiful quilts. She co-authored a book “The Quilt Primer”. Fran also enjoyed crafting, decorating, wallpapering and was the queen of good puns.

Francita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Claudia Schnabel, and granddaughter Adrienne Kier.

She leaves to mourn her passing, son, Jeffery (Jeff) Drain; daughters, Loree (Pete) Silva, Jana (Terry) Bloedorn, Tammy Williams; grandchildren Travis (Heather) Kier, Brandon Bloedorn, Anthony (Andrea) Williams, Drew Williams, and Alexis Williams; great grandchildren, Kali Bloedorn, Brock Bloedorn, Kazlyn Kier, and Zara Williams; sisters, Marla (Denny) Reiners, and Cindy (Bill) Weidner.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St, James Catholic Church of Trenton on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at 10:30 AM with Father Gary Brethour officiating. Rosary will be recited on Monday, April 24, 2023, at 7:00 PM at the St James Catholic Church in Trenton. Interment will be in the BVenkleman Cemnetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023, at the St James Church from 5:00 PM until Rosary at 7:00 PM.
