Late area boys basketball results from Friday

AMBRIDGE, Neb. — Junior Jensen Olsen sizzled for 20 points in Chase County’s 72-45 victory over the Cambridge Trojans on Saturday.

Olsen and teammate Easton Fries combined for 15 of 21 shooting for better than 70 percent.

Fries netted 17 points, senior Kade Anderson 11 and Colin O’Neil eight as he hit all three shots.

The Longhorns (9-12 record) finished at 58 percent overall on 30 of 52 field goals. They scored their second strong road victory in four days after beating Hitchcock County at Trenton Tuesday night.

Olsen also snared 10 rebounds which led a 36-26 rebounding advantage for Chase.

Cambridge (11-11) got 15 points from freshman Brady Ahlemeyer including three triples.

Senior Will Taylor and junior Carson Trompke totaled seven points each with junior Brohdey Wood adding six.

The Trojans finish their regular season at Bertrand while Chase visits 2-15 Sutherland.

Bridgeport 54

BRIDGEPORT, Neb. — Jensen Olsen lit up the Bridgeport Bulldogs for 25 points during Tuesday’s terrific win.

Kade Anderson (13 points) and sophomore Camron Lempke (seven) teamed to score 20 points on eight-for-13 field goals.

Easton Fries and senior Stephen Murray both added five points.

It was the Longhorns’ third straight win over a winning team as Bridgeport slipped to 13-9.

WAUNETA, Neb. — The 22-1 Maywood-Hayes Center boys unleashed a 51-11 first half Friday night.

Junior Jeremiah Ingison’s 19 points led an attack featuring 14 M-HC players.

Senior Kyler Cox scored 11, junior Haydn Farr 10 and sophomore Jon Patel 10 with senior Hayden Kramer adding eight.

Ingison’s 11 rebounds were another highlight. The Broncos are now 2-17 this season.

Bertrand 38,

Arapahoe 33

BERTRAND, Neb. — Sophomore William Cacy’s 14 points kept the 9-14 Arapahoe Warriors within striking range against RPAC tourney runner-up Bertrand (11-9).

Senior Cooper Wendland scored six and classmate Ander Wasenius five, but Arapahoe struggled with 21-percent shooting.

Defensive-minded Bertrand improved to 11-9. The Vikings handed MayHay’s boys their only loss this season.

WALLACE, Neb. — A tough loss only emans the Hitchcock Falcons still take an 11-9 record into Friday’s regular-season finale against 6-13 Wallace.

BARTLEY, Neb. — Freshman Krayton Ruggles' 11 points led a rough night for the 6-12 Southwest Roughriders.

Junior Hunter Blume added five, Nathan Rippe four and senior Kaiden Ruggles another four points but 10-9 Axtell led from start to finish.

Chase County 56

IMPERIAL, Neb. — Junior Jackson Kerchal’s 19 points and 17 from senior Alex Englot led the 18-4 Tigers Friday night.

Freshman Ethan Latta added 11 points.

Sophomore Tristan Jablonski’s 14 points paced Chase and Olsen added 13.

Brady Beckman’s 20 points paced 13-6 Rawlins County, junior Brayan Rodriguez 18 and Brandon Chvatal 16.
