Chase teams aiming to rebound from SPVA finales

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. — Both Chase County basketball teams are aiming at recovery following final South Platte Valley Association tournament losses recently.

The Chase girls (8-6 record) ran into tough defeats against league powers Bridgeport and North Platte St. Patrick’s last weekend.

They’ll visit to take on a strong 14-3 Hershey Panthers team Saturday.

Chase County’s boys rallied but fell short 46-40 vs. Perkins County during Saturday’s confernce consolation round.

Senior Kade Anderson scored 13 points with seven rebounds for the 5-9 Longhorns.

Easton Fries added six points while sophomores Camron Lempke, Tristan Jablonski and Benjamin Skeels netted five each.

Juniors Jensen Olsen and Zane Mays each tossed in three points.

Perkins County improved to 9-7 overall.

The Longhorn boys also visit Hershey (8-7) Saturday in a girls-boys doubleheader.
