McCOOK, Neb. — Marguerite L. Henn, age 86, of McCook, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, at Hillcrest Caring Center in McCook.

Marguerite was born March 17, 1936, in Raeville, Neb., to parents, Frank J. and Rose M. (Klein) Stuhr. She was one of 10 siblings. Marguerite attended school at St. Bonaventure Catholic School in Raeville through the 11th grade before graduating from St. John the Baptist Catholic School in Petersburg, Neb., with the Class of 1954.

On April 8, 1958, Marguerite married the love of her life, Duane L. Henn, at St. Bonaventure Church in Raeville. The couple were blessed with four children. Marguerite enjoyed her role as homemaker and later become a devoted grandmother who, along with Duane, enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s many events.

In 1995, Marguerite earned the title of Nebraska Flying Farmers and Ranchers Queen. She was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker Fan and enjoyed sewing, camping and fishing. She also provided daycare for many years. Marguerite overcame many health challenges over the years, including a kidney transplant in 1985.

Marguerite was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Herman and LaVern Stuhr; and two sisters, Elizabeth Ann, in infancy, and Taureta Borer.

Those left to celebrate her life include her husband, Duane Henn of McCook; son, Bob Henn of Lincoln, Neb.; daughters, Janet (Lonnie) Moon of McCook, Deb (Brent) Hofman of Indianola, Neb., and Karla Rien of Lincoln; brother, Francis (Linda) Stuhr of Petersburg; sisters, Rosina Parr of Wisner, Neb., Mary Ann (Fred) Fangman of Petersburg, Phyllis (Steve) Dahlkoetter of Norfolk, Neb., and Dorothy (Richard) Schultz of Wisner; five grandchildren, Kelsey (Glen) Wahrman, Paige Rien, Tessa Rien, Drew Hofman and Dylan Hofman.

Memorial contributions are suggested in Marguerite’s name for future designation or to the Nebraska Kidney Foundation, 212 S. 74th Street, Suite 205, Omaha NE 68114.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home, McCook, with Father Bernard Kimminau as celebrant.

A memorial mass will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, McCook. Inurnment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, McCook.
