McCOOK, Neb. — William Douglas Spry, age 68, of McCook, passed away Dec. 27, 2022, in McCook.

William was born on Sept. 22, 1954, to Shirley Wolfe in Lincoln, Neb.

William joined the United States Army on Sept. 30, 1971, and serviced in Germany during Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on Aug. 9, 1973.

William enjoyed fishing, he loved his cats and all animals.

William was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Pam Steiner.

William is survived by his sons, Kent Spry of Karlstad, Minn., Richard ( Michelle) Spry of Waterville, Ohio, and Kurt Penner of California; brother, Robert Spry of McCook; step-brothers, Brad (Mary) Howe of Omaha, Neb., and Bruce (Cindy) Howe of Wood River, Neb.; step-sister, Barb Howe-Loshbaugh of Indianola, Neb. Also surviving are five grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Memorials are suggested to donor’s choice.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell, Neb.
