Bison freshmen blank Lex on the Minutemen's turf, 42-0
LEXINGTON, Neb. — Tristan Campbell’s three touchdowns ignited a McCook freshman football 42-0 win over Lexington Thurdsay.
Campbell ran 32 yards, returned an interception for six points and then ran 40 to make it 21-0 early in the second quarter.
Blake Rodewald ran for another 40-yard TD to make it 28-0 by half.
Miles Pollman caught a six-yard pass from Trenton Raile and ran 15 yards to TDs after half.
Coach Ben Vetrovsky praised his team for playing a complete game.
He commented:
“We talked all week about making sure we played a complete game. I was really happy with our players on how we focused on ourselves and how we can become a better football team each week. Tristan Campbell ran the ball really well. I was proud of how Trenton Raile stepped up and played quarterback in the absence of Bryson Gullion due to injury. Overall, we took a step forward, and we are excited about the opportunity to play Hastings next week.”
