Imperial Juniors sweep through area into state tourney
IMPERIAL, Neb. — The Imperial Pinnacle Bank Juniors take a 23-3 record into Class C state baseball after winning all four area playoff games during this past week.
Imperial started with two shutouts including a 9-0 win over Mitchell.
Jaret Peterson pitched five innings, allowing only hit and fanning 11.
Imperial next blasted Bridgeport, 19-0, where Peterson doubled twice during a four-for-four, five-RBI performance.
Leadoff man Thomas Reeves scored five times while Mason Wallin added three hits, three runs and three RBIs.
Imperial took down Gordon-Rushville, 7-2 , in game threee. Peterson delivered two hits/two RBIs besides striking out eight.
Imperial finished a 5-3 victory over G-R behind Cooper Dillan’s home run and three Reeves RBIs.
Dillan and Carson Lempke struck out six batters each.
The Horns start state Saturday (2 p.m.) vs. Tri-County at Creighton.
