McCook man killed in tractor accident

CULBERTSON, Neb. — A McCook man was killed Sunday in a tractor accident in rural Hitchcock County, according to the Hitchcock County Sheriff’s office.

According to a release, the sheriff’s office responded to a report of an accident approximately 10 miles southwest of Culbertson, Neb., at the intersection of County Road 708 and East Driftwood Drive. A tractor driven by 70-year-old Dennis Grafel of McCook left the roadway and came to final rest northeast of the intersection in a cornfield. Mr. Grafel was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the accident.
