McCOOK, Neb. — Clara Lee Adams, 89, of McCook, passed away on June 10, 2021 at Great Plains Hospital in North Platte, Neb..

Clara was born in McCook at the home of her parents, Conrad and Elizabeth (Brungardt) Lebsack on Oct. 18, 1931. She grew up in McCook where she graduated high school in the Class of 1949.

Clara was baptized and confirmed at the German Congregational Church in McCook, and where on June 6, 1954, she was united in marriage to Dale Edward Adams. They celebrated 60 1/2 wonderful years together until Dale's death on Feb. 14, 2015.

Clara was a member of the First Congregational Church for many years where she sang in the choir, served as a Deacon, and was a part of the Women's Fellowship and various other church activities.

Clara was employed by the city of McCook for 29 years. She worked at the Fox Theater in her youth, held jobs with McCook Daily Gazette, Bums Podiatry Lab, Northwest Mutual Life Insurance, and was also a Luzier cosmetics consultant. She served as Director of Bereavement, a secretary for Region 20 Crime Commission, and volunteered at the High Plains Museum and with various other organizations throughout her life.

Clara had a great love for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her life was highlighted by any family activity, especially holidays. She enjoyed reading, writing, walking, playing bridge, interacting with people, and helping others.

Clara is survived by her sons, Rev. Jeffery (Susan) Adams of Lincoln, Neb.. and Douglas (Pamela) Adams of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren: Timoree (Chris) Klingler of Beatrice, Neb.; Hilary Everett of Lincoln; Mallory (Seth) Jones of Omaha, Neb.; Wesley (Brooke) Adams and Joslyn (Chris) Renzi all of Fort Worth, Texas; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Harry (Mary) Lebsack of McCook, Neb.; sister-in-law, Kathleen Krumme of Fairbury, Neb.; and many nieces, nephews and a host of lifelong friends.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; parents, Conrad and Elizabeth; parents in-law, Edward and Katherine; brothers: Sammy, Artie, Henry, and Raymond Lebsack; half-brothers, Fred, Carl, and Conrad, Jr. Lebsock; Reuben and John Hoff; sister, Edna Mae Lebsack; half-sisters, Martha, Marie, and Elizabeth Hoff; brothers-in-law: Elmer Krumme, Dave McKee, Henry Sell, Harry Fritz and Wendell Baynor; sisters-in-law: Phyllis, Virginia, Irene, and Kay Lebsack; Lydia and Merl Lebsoc; and Mable and Bernice Hoff.

Visitation will Friday, June 18, 2021, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Herrmann-Jones Funeral Chapel in McCook. The family will greet friends from 4-6 p.m.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday morning, June 19, 2021, at the First Congregational Church in McCook with Dave Davidson officiating. Cremation will follow services and a private family inurnment will take place in the Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.
