HAYS, Kan. — Not even Hustle could defeat these super McCook Rebels nor would there be any aftershock to knock them off course from winning a Hays (Kan.) Summer Blast tournament last weekend.

The Rebels 14-and-under team reached 22-2 this season which now inclues two big tournament wins over host Hays Hustle and Colorado Aftershock.

Sydney Hodgson made some history with her first over-the-fence home run on Saturday. The blast ignited a 6-2 opening victory over those Hays Hustle.

Any quakes only came from Rebel bats while crushing the Aftershock, 15-1.

Prodigy George of Colorado proved to almost be a Rebel silencer, but those McCook girls still prevailed 3-1 and capped their perfect 3-0 pool performance.

Tournament play didn’t cool the Rebel intensity as they earned a No. 1 seed.

The Aftershock couldn’t cause any damage during Sunday’s rematch which Rebels won 14-0.

They advanced into the Summer Blast championship where Hays Hustle awaited for a No. 1 vs. No. 2 final showdown.

No problem. The McCook Rebels scored yet another impressive 8-3, title-clinching victory.
