McCOOK, Neb. — The executive director of the McCook Chamber of Commerce has accepted a similar position with the Columbus, Neb., Area Chamber of Commerce.

In a letter released to members today, Dawson Brunswick said “This was a difficult decision for me, but leading the Columbus Area Chamber will provide me new opportunities to grow professionally and challenges to overcome.”

Brunswick, a 2016 graduate of McCook High School, became executive director of the McCook in 2019.

“It has been an honor and a privilege to work for the McCook Chamber of Commerce and to be viewed as a community leader in my hometown. None of this would be possible without you - the McCook Chamber of Commerce members, and I am forever grateful for each of you and the role you play in the community.”

Brunswick’s resignation as full-time president and CEO of the McCook chamber will be effective March 22, and he plans to assist the board part-time through the transition until the end of May.

“The Chamber is in a much stronger position than it was a year and a half ago, and I’m confident that my successor and the board will have all the tools and resources to continue to Chamber’s great work in providing value for our members through advocacy, education, networking, and marketing.”
