The breakdown includes 3 active, 7 recovered and 31 quarantined at McCook High School, 3 active, 4 recovered and 10 quarantined at McCook Junior High, 1 active, 1 recovered and 6 quarantined at Central Elementary, and no active, 2 recovered and 18 quarantined at McCook Elementary.

The site notes that those who are currently quarantined may not have the COVID virus, and those showing symptoms might be showing symptoms caused by some other common illnesses or conditions.

Active cases are not representative of students becoming infected at school, officials said. The majority of students and staff are contracting the infection from family members, travel or social gatherings outside of school. They urged parents to make sure their children are following protective measures at all times.
