KEARNEY, Neb. — Southwest senior Jacob O’Dea finished an amazing season and Roughrider cross country career with his 11th-place finish at the Class D state meet on Friday.

O’Dea repeated as RPAC champ and won just about every other showdown during his senior season. He placed second at the UNK Invitational on the same Kearney Country Club course earlier this fall.

While it wasn’t his best finish Friday, O’Dea still earned a medal while leading all area Class D and C runners who qualified to compete with Nebraska’s best distance runners.

Arapahoe senior Isaac Goshert wasn’t far off the medal-winning pace as he earned a Top 20 finish in that Class D championship race.

Goshert was second only to O’Dea during the RPAC showdown at Cross Creek Golf Course in Cambridge earlier this month.

Senior Shane Horwart repesented the Cambridge Trojans, placing among that top half of his Class D race.

Chase County’s Jordan Jablonski paced all area girls after qualifying for the Class C ultimate season finale.
