Raiders trounce through Garden to playoff victory

OSHKOSH, Neb. — The Medicine Valley Raiders showed whey they’re 8-1 with a strong 34-14 playoff victory over Garden County Thursday evening.

Coach Scott Johnsen’s team led from start to finish. An 8-0 first quarter became 28-6 by halftime thanks to 20 second-period points.

Though the host Eagles (6-3) outscored M.V. 8-6 in that third period, they were completely shut out through the fourth period.

"It was a great team effort," coach Scott Johnsen confirmed.

The Raiders nearly doubled Garden's total yardage, 299-157, as Raider Lane Lenz rushed 28 times for 141 yards and two touchdowns.

Hudson Stout followed his eight-yard opening TD pass to Hayden Kramer by running to two points.

Stoudt's 10-run to football paradise mad e it 14-0 before Garden County tallied its first TD.

However, Stout covered another nine yards and Lane dashed to two more Raider scores. Stone's two-point pass to Kramer created the 28-6 halftime lead.

Lenz's two-yard run countered the lone Garden County second-half score.

The Raiders totaled 22 first downs while those Eagles only produced eight.

Stout's eight tackles also paced the Raider defense and he intercepted one pass.

Kaden Bonini delivered another eight stops (four solos), Trenton DeFruiter made five solo tackles and Sebastian Kramer another four.

Sebastian Kramer and Josh Gage both recovered fumbles.
