Bison boys race to top four in SWC

COZAD, Neb. — McCook’s boys reached the top half of Thursday’s Southwest Conference cross country race with junior Josh Hegwood earning fourth place.

“Josh ran a very good race, maybe the best race of the season,” Bison coach Tom Sughroue declared.

Senior Brandon Tucker also reached the top 20 percent of this eight-team field as he placed 17th (19:44.3).

Seniors Matt Herron (30th), Bryce Dutton (34th) and freshman Evan Mai (36th) outran more than half the SWC runners who finished.

The Bison run districts at Ogallala Thursday.
