McCOOK, Neb. — McCook High’s “C” football team beat Lexington, 54-0, on Thursday at Weiland Field to reach 3-1 this season.

Coach Bill Ramsay provided these insights about the big home win:

“This game was probably our best game of the year both offensively and defensively.Defensively we did a great job of controlling the line of scrimmage and putting pressure on their offense, we played assignment football and our kids did a great job making plays.

On offense we did a nice job of running the football, our offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage, and did a nice job of picking up their blitz package, and opening big lanes for our backs to run through.

We will get back to practice on Monday, hitting the fundamentals and improving on some areas that we need work on.

Next game is Thursday against Hastings at 5 p.m. in McCook.”
