Raiders rule five-set thriller, Broncos sweep Tigers

CURTIS, Neb. — Senior Acelyn Klein’s 20 kills helped Medicine Valley take the one final shot of momentum and win in five sets over Sumner-Eddyviller Tuesday evening.

Junior Kaylyn Roblee clobbered another 14 kills for the Raiders, who fought to their sixth win (6-5 record) this season.

They nearly finished S-E-M (6-12) in the fourth set, but those visiting Mustangs escaped with a 27-25 victory.

Senior Jessa Bailey’s 32 assists and 24 digs made sure the Raiders would not be denied another home win.

Klein hustled for another 21 digs, Roblee made 15 and freshman Stella Heapy totaled 14 digs.

Heapy added eight more kills as the Raiders fired 46 lethal shots to S-E-M’s 41.

Freshman Mikah O’Neill’s 19 kills led the visiting Mustangs.

Klein contributed four stuff blocks. Bailey and Roblee both served a pair of aces in what helping M.V. overcome a 25-12 opening set defeat.

The Raiders won 25-22, 25-21, lost 27-25 and then finished with a 15-9 final set.

The Raiders are set to host a triangular tonight in search of two more wins.

Broncos win at

Benkelman

The Wauneta-Palisade Broncos are now 9-6 as they swept past Dundy County-Stratton 25-23, 25-19, 25-12 on those Tigers’ home court Tuesday night.

Senior Haylee Sandman sizzed 13 kills when the Broncos weren’t serving 12 aces.

Senior Peyton Yearous’ five powerd that ace attack while junior Alexa Sandman served three.

Sophomore Cali Cox served two aces besides drilling another 11 kills.

Cox also dished out 15 assists to the hungry Bronco hitters.

Alexa Sandman made a team-high 19 digs.

No official stats were obtained for the DC-S Tigers, who slipped to 1-16 this season.

Warriors at Loomis

LOOMIS, Neb. — Sophomore Emerson Swanson’s seven kills highlighted an Arapahoe 25-9, 25-23, 25-7 setback to the host Loomis Wolves Tuesday night.

Freshmen Berkeley Warner and Sabrina Jacobsen both made 10 digs for the 3-13 Warriors.

Warner and sophomore Anna TenBensel each served one Arapahoe ace.
