County clerk encouraging early voting by mail

Wednesday, April 1, 2020

McCOOK, Neb. -- Despite the coronavirus pandemic, Gov. Pete Ricketts has declared that the Primary Election will take place May 12th at the usual polling places.

The Red Willow County Clerk has been receiving phone calls from citizens worried about going to the polls in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and reminds that early voting by mail is available.

In fact, in order to prevent the spread of the virus, the office highly encourages voters to request an early voting ballot from this office.  Citizens are no longer required to have a reason to vote early -- anyone is eligible.

The Secretary of State is mailing an early ballot request form to each registered voter in the state, or find an application in the Gazette, or go to the County’s website   co.red-willow.ne.us   and find the application link on the home page, or just drop a note (including your name, address and signature) requesting an early ballot.

“Please remember, it’s not just you that you will be keeping safe,” according to the release.
