Bison tennis boys sweep away Dusters

HOLDREGE, Neb. — McCook High’s varsity tennis boys swept Holdrege, 9-0, to go with a JV 10-0 dual win Thursday afternoon.

Coach Matt Wiemers delivered these comments about the latest dominating win:

“The team earned a win to improve to 6-2 in dual play. We were pleased with the focus and determination the guys had today. We are seeing good things on the courts and the team continues to show improvement with each match.

Brandan and Evan are continuing to gel nicely and gaining more confidence. They are making the adjustments we are asking them to and that is helping them on the court a lot.

They have had a nice two week stretch going 7-0 during that time. They improve their season record to 11-8 overall.

Other Bison players current season records, #1 singles-Zion 21-3, #2 singles-Mason 23-3, #1 doubles-Logan and Isaac 21-5.

They each have 10 matches remaining to play prior to the state tournament.

We have next week open to prep for our conference tournament.”
