CAMBRIDGE, Neb. — Sophomore Keegan Krutsinger connected on nine of 11 shots for 18 points in Dundy County-Stratton’s 69-59 win over Cambridge Thursday night.

The Tigers (13-2 record) took charge with a 20-10 second quarter and withstood 26 Trojan fourth-period points.

Senior Preston Carbaugh sparked a Cambridge comeback within 57-53, but DC-S finished strong for the victory.

Senior Jacob Krutsinger-Haines netted 15 points while juniors Lane Shillington and Michael Fredericka dded 10 apiece.

Juniors Damon Latta (eight points), Cade Lutz (six) and freshman Quad Myers (two) contributed clutch baskets.

Krutsinger (11 rebounds) and Frederick (10) also delivered double doubles.

SV 53, Arap. 48

ARAPAHOE, Neb. — Junior Jaden Quinn’s 23 points helped Southern Valley win a close battle with the Warriors.

Sophomore Carter Bose hit five of six shots while adding 13 points.

Arapahoe slipped to 5-11 despite senior Carson Schroeder’s 19 points and another 17 from classmate Yordi Gutierrez.

Gutierrez drilled four of six three-point shots.

Senior Gentry Anderson also cleaned the glass of 14 rebounds for Arapahoe.

The see-saw contest saw SV lead 12-3 through one quarter, fall behind 35-33 after three periods but then finish on a 20-13 surge.

Bert. 76, M-HC 37

BERTRAND, Neb. — Freshman Weston Morrow’s 16 points highlighted the 1-14 Maywood-Center boys’ game Thursday night.

Morrow shot 50 percent at four-for-eight from long distance.

Junior Eli Handsaker ripped down 11 rebounds and blocked three Bertrand shots.

M-HC 36, Bert. 21

BERTRAND, Neb. — Relentless Wolves defense allowed only sixpoints before halftime of a Maywood-Hayes Center win Thursday night.

The Wolves (12-3 record) built a 16-6 lead which reached 28-10 through three periods.

Sophomore Jaycee Widener was a beast on the boards with 13 rebounds.

Senior Jayden Widener swiped five steals from the host Vikings.

Junior Jaycee Lapp’s 10 points paced the M-HC offense.

Jayden Widener and junior Avery Johnson both scored seven points while Jaycee Widener sent six through the nets.

Senior Paige Wood’s four points and junior Abbie Brott’s two finished the win.

SV 46, Arap. 28

ARAPAHOE, Neb. — Seniors Joslyn North (16) and Mariah Watson (10) tallied all but two of the Warrior points Thursday night.

No Southern Valley individual stats were obtained.

However, the Eagles (6-10 record) controlled this contest as they took a 16-8 after one quarter then outscored Arapahoe during those next three periods.

Southern Valley began defense of its RPAC tourney title by beating Arapahoe again on Saturday. Details appeared on Page 11.

Elwood 31, MV 26

ELWOOD, Neb. — Sophomore Acelyn Klein’s 15 and 14 rebounds helped Medicine Valley push Elwood into overtime Thursday.

Sophomore Jessa Bailey (seven points), junior Sabra Schmidt (two) and freshman Kaylyn Roblee (two) added points.
