Tigers unleash top talent on Bison wrestlers

HASTINGS, Neb. — Tiger trouble was just about everywhere during Hastings’ 56-15 dual win over the McCook High wrestlers Thursday night.

“Wins were hard to come by,” Bison coach Nick Umscheid confirmed about challenging Class B’s No. 6 team on newrestle.com. “Hastings is definitely one of the top dual teams in the state.”

Joseph Kain scored McCook’s one pin when he stuck Jackson Phelps just as the second period ended in their 160-pound match.

Sophomore Alec Langan delivered a 7-0 domination of Kyle Patten at 182. Julian Stiver received a 106-pound forfeit for the other Bison win.

113 — L. Zekser, HAST, pinned James Kestie in 2:13;

120 — D. Miller, HAST, won 15-6 over Talyn Campbell;

126 — B. Brown, HAST, won by tech f all over Nathan Renner;

132 — I. Hunsley, HAST, pinned Trevor Felber in 1:16;

138 — M. Brumbaugh, HAST, won 12-4 over Tate Felber;

152 — T. Perez, HAST, pinned Kallen Feikert in 1:38;

170 — D. Pape, HAST, won 11-2 over Kody Hahn;

195 — E. Morara, HAST ,won 9-3 over Jared Cole

220 — B. Davis, HAST, pinned Austin Kreutzer in 5:30;

285 — J. Callejas, HAST, pinned Hunter Cunningham in 1:10.

The Bison wrestle next at Saturday’s Lexington Invite (9 a.m. start).

Lexington is also ranked in the Class B top 1o. Watch for Bison results on Monday.
