STRATTON, Neb. — Mary Ann Downing-Schwerdt, 89, died Sunday (Jan. 13, 2019), at the Sarah Ann Hester Home in Benkelman, Neb.

Survivors include children, Doug Downing and wife, Margaret of McCook, Neb., and Jeanette Burkhalter and husband, Kevin of Bird City, Kan.; sister, Julia Diehl of Stratton; son-in-law, Larry Wilkens of Merida, Mexico; daughter-in-law, Geraldine Downing of Stratton; step-children, Michael Beck of Mesa, Ariz., and Marsha Martinez and husband, Eugene of Denver, Colo.; step-daughter-in-law, Janne Schwerdt of Wheat Ridge, Colo.; nine grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, 2 to 6 p.m. (CT) at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stratton. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 P.M. (CT) at the church.

Services are Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, 10:30 a.m., (CT) at the church with the Rev. Matthew Eickhoff officiating. Interment will follow services in Rose Hill Cemetery, Stratton.
