Cloyd Hoyt of Iowa, formerly of rural McCook, Neb., will celebrate his 100th birthday on July 26, 2018. He is a retired farmer and public service devotee. He served on many boards, including District 8 school board, REA, Red Cross, and the Irrigation District. He was instrumental in bringing electricity, phone, and irrigation services to Southwest Nebraska area. He remains actively interested in Red Willow and Hitchcock County activities and keeps up on all the latest developments. He enjoys reports on his nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also a faithful Cornhusker but he is slowly being converted to the Hawkeye Fan Club.
