Letter to the Editor

Unprecedented

Monday, May 21, 2018

Dear Editor,

I have worked some sort of road work for approximately 50 years. I have seen people drive through roadblocks; some have to get out of their vehicles to do so.

Where were the signs and on this particular road and flagmen? Or do they not realize that other people travel that road?

But never have I ever heard of a BOSS or the lowest employ ever endangering an oncoming vehicle by throwing anything at or in the road in front of them and especially a school bus.

Had this been a contractor, there would be inspectors traffic control and local police on scan demanding that this person is removed and possibly arrested.

I believe that this person should be relieved of all responsibilities, elected offices, and fired immediately.

To think of the lives He was endangering, not to mention the example set for the other employees working for the county or any other road worker.

Thank You

Dave Gibbens,

Palisade, Neb.

  • Thank you, Dave Gibbens, for eloquently speaking what many of us think. Hopefully, the short meeting that was supposed to have taken place today will remedy this situation. He needs to step down NOW!

  • He endangered the lives of his crew as well. Even himself. If that rake hits something traveling on the road, you don't know where that rake is going. I do think the incident shows a favoritism. And it is because he's part of the government. And, it doesn't help to say " no harm was actually done". That would be like saying its ok to drive drunk as long as no one actually gets hurt. It's just one of those special person cases.

  • Oh, by the way, you can't remove an elected official as easy as you make it sound..Just saying!

The sharks are smelling blood!!! I feel so sorry for you that your solution to every problem is rolling a head down the hill............hang the guilty one, no trial necessary!

Well, I guess not every problem, because you seemed to tolerate incompetence from the director of Hillcrest until nobody could ignore it any further....or, she walked out.......Whatever.....
