McCOOK, Neb. — McCook Bison boys triumphed in eight events and were near the top of almost everything else during Monday’s McCook JV Invitational.

The Bison showed great balance whether they were winning sprints (James Mockry), hurdles (Drake Brunswick), distance (Alec Langan), jumps (Dylan Beaumont) or throws (Jared Cole).

They outscored closest contender Holdrege, 191-93, as Bison boys also teamed to sweep all three relay races.

Langan earned the triple championship with his 800-meter run victory. The freshman also ran a leg on McCook’s 1600 and 3200 relays.

Cambridge paced all other Gazette-area teams, finishing fifth behind four Class B squads.

Kyle Eubanks won both the 200 and 400-meter dashes.
