OXFORD, Neb. — Southern Valley’s win streak reached six thanks to the Eagle girls’ 52-37 victory over Phillipsburg, Kan., Tuesday night.

Senior Cassie Bose continued her super final high school season by scoring another 24 points.

She shot 60 percent from two-point range (six of 10) and an even better 89 percent at the foul line (eight for nine).

Sophomore Lauryn Samuelson (nine points), senior Becca Linnemann (eight) and teammate Janessa Kring (seven) made sure the Eagles suffered no letdown from Saturday’s RPAC tourney championship.

Southern Valley finished a fantastic 4-0 with the surprise 39-36 finals win over defending champ Dundy County-Stratton.

Samuelson’s eight rebounds were another highlight for the 13-7 Eagles.

Phillipsburg fell to 5-9 on the season.

The boys’ game was a different story as those Panthers improved to 14-1.

Phillipsburg defeated the Eagles, 66-34, despite a game-high 15 points from S.V. senior Chaston Burgeson.

Burgeson buried three of his seven three-point attempts.

Senior Kade Bose contributed another seven points, but the Eagles dropped to 4-13 this season.

The Eagles take on rival Alma Friday night.
