Red Devils run into tough duals

McCOOK, Neb. — The Decatur Community (Kan.) Red Devils took on four tough Nebaska foes in Friday’s McCook Dual Tournament.

The Red Devils were closest to victory during their 48-28 battle with host McCook.

They scored four impressive pins from heavyweight Zeke Jimenez, 195-pounder Reegon Witt, Drew Juenemann at 132 and Colton Ketterl at 138.

Juenemann finished his match in just 66 seconds.

However, the Red Devils feaured five open weights which led to McCook wins and key points.

The other duals were more difficult including champion Wray, Colo., winning a 66-12 decision.

Isaiah Mason and Witt delivered the two Red Devil victories.

Mason pinned Derek Saffer in 3:48 at 145 while Witt was a 4:41 winner against Jayce Reser at 195.

Defending invite champ Alliance offered nothing easy throughout a 63-7 dual victory.

Kel Crafel captured a 14-1 major decision over Jaxon Minneck to highlight the dual for DC.

Witt also battled into overtime for his third win of the day, edging Alliance’s Bailey Hood by a 12-10 fnal count.

North Platte took a 66-15 triumph against the Red Devils, although Mason pinned Cash Arensdorf in :59 and Juenemann was an 11-9 victor against North Platte’s Dominick Tridle.

Witt received a forfeit at 195 pounds to finish 3-0 on the day.

Alliance 57, North Platte 18;

Wray 41, Alliance 24;

Wray 42, North Platte 31.
