SUTHERLAND, Neb. — Sophomore Sophie Spady’s super three-for-three shooting from long range still left Chase County just short in a 35-34 loss at Sutherland Tuesday night.
Spady’s nine points and 10 from junior Allison Owings led the 3-2 Longhorns.
Sophomore Mallie McNair sent another seven points through the nets.
The Longhorns bolted ahead 9-2 through one quarter only to be outscored during those next three periods.
Chase’s boys dropped a 74-72 overtime game to Ogallala despite junior Braden Space’s 23 points. Both Longhorn teams are set to host Yuma, Colo., tonight.
