McCook men beat All-Stars to reach 2-0

McCOOK, Neb. — The McCook Community College men’s basketball team improved to 2-0 on the year but it didn’t come easy over a collection of MCC alums and all-stars.

The Indians held on for a 97-90 win Saturday in the Peter and Dolores Graff Events Center.

Isaiah Richardson led MCC in scoring with 21 including four-of-eight from the 3-point line. D’Von Moore and Peanut Cunningham helped pace the MCC backcourt with 18 and 17 points respectively.

Antonio Dye of Indianapolis, Ind., led all scorers with 30 points, for the All-Stars. Eric Rippen of Kearney made five-of-eight 3-pointers for 15 points and Keenan Gaskin of Dallas added 11.

The Indians defeated Doane College’s JV team, 78-66, for their opening win Friday which was detailed in Monday’s Gazette. They play at a Gillette, Wyo., tourney starting Thursday.
