The United States Marine Corps will be celebrating their 242nd birthday on Nov. 10, 2017, As many readers may know, our Continental Congress established the Marine Corps as a new branch of the military on Nov. 10, 1775. Therefore, local Marines, spouses and friends will be celebrating the anniversary of our beloved Corps, The festivities will be held at Sehnerts Bakery & Bieroc Cafe in McCook, beginning with social hour at 5:30 p.m., with sit-down dinner, and the ceremonial Marine Corps cake cutting to follow. Entertainment will be by the local musical group, “Threefold.”

Reservations are required! Cost is $20 per person if payment is received by Nov. 6 or $25 at the door. Reservations can be made by calling Dan Stramel at 345-5213 or stopping by his office at 219 West 1st Street in McCook. We hope to see many of our “Jarheads” in attendance.
