Letter to the Editor

Pity the Las Vegas shooter's brother

Tuesday, October 10, 2017

Dear Editor,

Today, Oct. 9, 2017, The brother of the mass murderer Of Las Vegas repute arrived at the airport in Las Vegas where he was picked up by agents of the FBI where he will be interviewed and questioned about his brother.

Those of us who witnessed his comical response but nonetheless pathetic response to the media questions the day after the massacre, with the frenetic and nervous repetition of the words, Nothing!

Nothing! Nothing!

One cannot help recalling the famous words of Lady Macbeth in Shakespeare’s great tragedy where she cried out, “Methinks thou dost protest too much.”

I can hear him now as he does his best to answer the agents questions, Nothing! Nothing! Nothing! and there’s just “Nothing” to tell.

God help the brother. He too is a victim. His brother is dead. He, in turn, has the rest of his life to live where his brother was a mass murderer.

One of the most precious and valuable things that each of us possesses is our “Reputation.” We can lose it by a deed or action of ours, or indirectly by the actions or a deed or action of a family member.

Sincerely

James G. McHale

McCook, Neb.
