Tigers hurl shutout, O'Brien Royals now 10-0

FELLING FIELD –The First Central Bank Tigers defeated H & H Installation Mets 5-0 on Wednesday as Tigers pitchers Adam Dugger and Brett Fraker combined to throw a shutout.

Dugger earned the win for the First Central Bank Tigers. He tossed three innings, surrendering zero runs, three hits, striking out eight and walking one.

Fraker recorded the last six outs to earn the save for First Central Bank Tigers.

The two long Tiger hits came off the bats of Fraker and Dugger. Fraker led off the third inning with a fly ball that dropped just inside the first base line for a triple and two batters later Dugger doubled off of the wall in left field.

The only multi hit performance of the game was recorded by the Mets’ Carter Larson.

The Tigers finished with a 6-4 record on the season and a 4-4 mark in Majors Division play which earned them the #3 seed in the post season tournament.

The Mets wrapped up the 2017 season with a 3-6 overall record and a 3-5 record in division play positioning them as the #4 seed in the tourney.

The Majors Division tournament starts on Monday.

Phillies win again

The Ruggles Angus Cardinals watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 11-3 loss to the McCook Masonic Bodies Phillies on Wednesday.

Doubles by Alex Messinger and Keynan Gaston sandwiched by Kolyn Gaston and Nathanial Miller singles helped propel the Phillies into the lead.

With the win, the Phillies finish the season with a 4-6 overall record and sit at 4-4 in Majors Division play, good for the #2 seed in the Majors Division tournament. The Cardinals will be seeded fifth in the upcoming tournament after collecting a 1-8 overall record and a 1-7 mark in division play.

Royals roll to 10-0

The O’Brien Electric Royals jumped out to an early lead over the Ruggles Angus Cardinals and took home a 9-1 victory on Wednesday.

The Royals’ bats shined in the first inning as three consecutive doubles by Jacob Gomez-Wilson, Alex Anthony, and Tanner O’Brien resulted in three runs.

The Royals pulled off a perfect, undefeated season in Majors Division Play with a 10-0 overall mark, 8-0 league.
