The family of Irene (Pickrel) Traphagen of McCook is celebrating her 95th birthday with a reception and card shower. She was born on the family farm on May 28, 1922, in Moorefield, Neb. She was a nurse at St. Catherine’s Hospital starting in 1943 and later worked at Community Hospital in McCook, retiring in 1975. The reception is Saturday, May 27, 2017, from 1-3 p.m., at 605 West G. Her family includes husband, G.E. (Red) of McCook; children, Susan Yates of McCook and Jerry and wife, Mary Traphagen of McCook; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
