OGALLALA, Neb. — More McCook Bison results from Monday’s B-6 district golf tournament that were not available in time for Tuesday’s Gazette:

Trevor Oberg’s round of 88 helped the Bison shoot 348 to finish fourth among 12 teams.

Oberg delivered a 43 and 45 on the two nines at Ogallala’s West Winds Golf Course.

Senior Marcus Eckhardt’s 93 completed the Bison 348 team total. Eckhart fired a 45 and 53.

Hunter Hays also gained great district tournament experience as he carded 48 and 54 for his round of 102.

The Bison missed qualifying their entire team into Class B state by just one spot. Top three teams and 10 individuals get their shots at Lincoln next week to determine top honors in all of Class B.

However, McCook will be represented with senior Kade Gray and junior Gabe Vielma.

Gray shot 80 and captured eighth place overall while Vielma crackced the top 10 with a solid round of 82.

They’ll both play the Highlands Course at Lincoln next Tuesday and Wednesday.

More details including both McCook state qualifiers’ tee times will be featured in an upcoming Gazette.

The Gazette-area region qualified several more state golfers including entire teams from Southern Valley and Medicine Valley. Other details appear today.
