100th birthday
The family of Carl Mohr of McCook is hosting an open house in honor of his 100th birthday. His birthday is Wednesday, April 19, 2017 and the open house is Saturday, April 15, from 2-4 p.m. at the Heritage Senior Center in McCook, 1400 W. Fifth. He was born in Chester, Neb., in 1917 and was a barber in McCook for 66 years, starting in 1939. He gave haircuts to many Nebraska governors, including the first hair cut to former U.S. senator, Ben Nelson. His family includes children, Mary Lee and Neal Corey of McCook and the late Stan Mohr; grandchildren, Toby and Ginger Corey of Tyler, Texas, Todd and Kelly Corey of Omaha, Neb., Heidi Lepley of Kearney, Neb., and great-grandchildren, Samantha, Zachary and Joshua Corey, Peyton and Mikayla Corey and Sydney Stewart.
