Rising, falling with the tide
Dear Editor,
To the author of the Opinion piece entitled, "No Unwanted Children etc." and his sympathy with the "anonymous" Facebook writer who lives in complete oblivion of what mental darkness enters into the life of any woman who experiences an abortion, not to mention the callousness with which the Facebook writer disposes of the murder of defenseless babies who are without rights, a kind of deconstruction of "equal rights."
To writers such as these, writers who are a minority, thank God, I recommend that they read a poem by one of our great American Poets, Robert Louis Stevenson, entitled, "The Tide Rises, The Tide Falls," where the theme has to do with our mortality while creation goes on infinitely.
I confidently predict that with a few more confirmations to our Supreme Court like Judge Corsich, the scourge of abortion, the murder of the defenseless, and the misguided compassion for pregnant women will be ended and the United States will be able to hold up its head and say that an evil mistake, made by our Supreme Court has been overturned, and, to quote a line from the final verse of Stevenson's poem" -- substituting the word "traveler" with the word "abortion."
The day returns, but nevermore, Returns abortion to our shore, And the tide rises, the tide falls.
Sincerely,
James G. McHale
