Bison set records again at state swim

LINCOLN, Neb. -- State swimming finished on Saturday with the McCook Bison setting two more school records.

McCook had a strong team again this year, ranking eight for the women teams through event 24.

McCook girls broke both 200-relay school school records.

The Bison 200 freestyle time was 1:46.06 and their 200 medley time was 2:00.5.

Shayne Coleman swam individually in both the 50 freestyle and the 100 freestyle. She was the only McCook swimmer who competed on Saturday.

Her time for 100 freestyle was 55.5.

Her prelim time for 50 freestyle was 25.14 with a final score of 25.49. McCook 200 medley relay swimmers included Rebecca Tietz, Mollie Tate, Shayne Coleman, Laurel Schmidt, Candace Coleman, Elizabeth Barenberg, Elise Stevens and Alexis Carney. 200 free relay swimmers were Schmidt, Tietz, Candace Coleman, Shayne Coleman, Tate, Barenberg, Stevens and Kylee Hauxwell. 400

Free relay time was 4:02.10.

Swimmers were Candance Coleman, Barenberg, Stevens, Schmidt, Tate, Hauxwell, Carney and Tietz. Diving first was senior Taylor Ford with a seed score of 301.60.

Junior Victoria Norgaard dove right after with a score of 301.85. Sophomore Syd Wier finished the prelims with a score of 130.3.
